So Let Your Light Shine
Stories of Illumination
As Bennies, we know the immense impact of daring to shine. We’ve seen it in the Benedictine sisters who lit the spark more than a century ago so women could take their rightful place in the classroom. And, we’ve seen it in the generations of alumnae who’ve fanned the flames of lifelong learning.
Bennie Conversations: How She Shines is an initiative designed to capture the individual impacts of our collective light — simply by telling our stories. Through a series of personal, one-on-one interviews, the college will be gathering alumnae stories to acknowledge and celebrate these moments.
How She Shines is both a question and an exclamation. As a question, we’re asking alumnae to examine their Saint Ben’s experience and share how it shaped their lives … and how it continues to shape the way they shine in the world — to friends, families, colleagues and their communities. As an exclamation, How She Shines celebrates these impacts, no matter how great or small.
Our vision is to use these stories as an invitation for others to support our mission and our legacy. By acknowledging our brilliance, we’re honoring a flame that’s bigger than ourselves, and we will help ensure its light for generations of Bennies to come.
