An Illuminating Life: Cathy Nguyen ’20

If you attended last fall’s Scholarship Mass and Brunch, you might remember our student speaker, Cathy Nguyen ’20. Cathy is a communication major and an energetic and active Bennie who has made the most of the time she’s spent at Saint Ben’s.

  • She performed in a Greek tragedy her first year.
  • She took a crack at the Figure Skating Club (until the 5 a.m. practices cracked her).
  • She served on the Saint Ben’s Senate.
  • She joined the All-College Choir, the Exploring Latin American Culture club and an intramural soccer team.
  • She became an Entrepreneur Scholar, interned in London, took a business trip to China and launched a lip-balm venture.

It seems like Cathy did it all while she was here … which is a very good thing, because she’s finishing up her senior year neither in St. Joseph nor at home in Fredericksburg, Virginia. She’s sheltering in place at the home of a friend in the Twin Cities.

Take a look at what distance learning looks like for Cathy.
