The Washington, D.C. program provides Brandl scholars $5,000 to support their summer internships in our nation’s capital. The Lindstroms previously pledged $5,000/year. By increasing their pledge to $10,000/year, they’re enabling two students each summer to realize their internship dreams. In 2018, CSB saw the largest cohort (28) in the program’s history, thanks, in part, to scholarship support.
Some of the 2018 Brandl recipients included:
- Mackenzie Kuhl ’19, who interned with the NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice, a global movement for justice and peace
- Lucy Dornbach ’19, who worked with Minnesota’s U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar
- Samantha Givens ’20, who learned about the Advocacy Project, a non-profit assisting marginalized communities
- Sameera Sheikh ’19 and Danica Simonet ’19, who worked with the Jubilee USA Network, an organization focused on debt relief for developing countries
